Our F.R.P Fully Enclosed Drop-off lifeboat/free fall lifeboat complies with the regulations of
SOLAS amendments and International life-saving appliance regulation (LSA) MSC.272(85)
& MSC.274(85). We can offer such F.R.P Fully Enclosed Drop-off lifeboat/free fall lifeboat with a capacity ranging from 12 to 60 people. Marine society class certificate of ABS, BV, CCS, DNV(GL), RINA and NK are available.
We can also customize F.R.P Fully Enclosed Drop-off lifeboat/free fall lifeboat according to the requirements of the shipowner.
(1) SOLAS Convention (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea)
Enclosed Structure: Fully enclosed lifeboats must be equipped with rigid watertight enclosures. The hatches can be opened both inside and outside, and they must be able to support the entire weight (including passengers, equipment and machinery) in the event of capsizing.
Self-righting capability of lifeboat: It can automatically right itself after capsizing, and when submerged, the internal water level does not exceed 500mm above the seat board.
Seat belts and seats: Each seat must be equipped with a seat belt (for free-fall boats, a safety device is required), capable of restraining a 100kg person for 3 seconds.
Propulsion system: The engine should be able to operate or be easily restarted after being overturned, and the fuel system should prevent leakage (leakage of lubricating oil ≤ 250 mL).
(2) LSA rules (IMO MSC.48(66))
Specify the requirements for the buoyancy, stability, fire resistance, etc. of lifeboats, applicable to fully enclosed lifeboats .
Oil tankers and drilling platforms: Fire-resistant free-fall boats equipped with sprinkler systems are suitable for high-risk environments.·
Large commercial ships and passenger ships: Meet SOLAS regulations to ensure emergency evacuation efficiency.·
Polar navigation: Some models have ice zone navigation capabilities, adapting to extreme environments.
