Pillow-shaped underwater buoyancy salvage air bag is a common underwater salvage equipment, named because of its shape similar to a pillow.
Typically made of high-strength PVC-coated fabric, it offers high abrasion and UV resistance. Each airbag includes a heavy-duty webbing harness with a single pickup point and screw-pin buckle, an over pressure valve, a 3/4-inch stainless steel ball valve, and a quick connector, ensuring safe and convenient use.
Operating Principle: Based on Archimedes' principle, inflating the airbag increases its volume, displacing more water, generating upward buoyancy to lift heavy objects such as sunken ships and vehicles.
Primarily used in underwater salvage operations, such as recovering sunken ships and recovering vehicles, it can also be used in underwater construction, logging, dock support during pontoon repairs, and aircraft recovery. It is the most widely used enclosed flotation bag for salvage towing, shallow water operations, and rigging.
Compared with rigid floats, pillow-type underwater buoyancy salvage air bags are flexible and versatile. They can be folded or rolled into a cylindrical shape for storage or diving. They take up little space, have low transportation and storage costs, and exert little force per unit area on the salvaged object, which is beneficial for protecting the object.
